About Recognify
Built on science.
Designed for people.
Recognify emerged from research at Radboud University into how digital tools and AI can produce real psychological outcomes. We built it because the gap between what science knows and what people actually have access to is too wide, and too costly.
Our mission
Make the science of personal growth
available to everyone.
The tools to understand yourself, break unhealthy patterns, and build a life that fits who you are, these have existed in research labs and therapy rooms for decades. We believe they belong in everyone's pocket. Not as a luxury. Not behind a paywall. As a baseline that any person can access, regardless of background, income, or circumstance.
That's why Recognify is free. That's why we built it on peer-reviewed science. And that's why we use the most advanced AI available, not to replace human connection, but to bring the depth of a real psychological conversation to anyone who needs it.
Why this matters now
Most people are doing fine.
And quietly wondering
if they could be doing better.
We live in an era of extraordinary access, to information, to opportunity, to connection. And yet something is missing. Burnout is common. Purpose feels elusive. Anxiety has become background noise. Not because people are broken, but because the tools to understand yourself have never been truly available outside of a therapist's office.
Positive psychology has known for decades that flourishing is not the absence of struggle, it is the presence of meaning, growth, and self-knowledge. These are learnable. They are buildable. But until now, there has been no serious, science-backed way to develop them as daily practice.
Recognify exists to change that. Not for people in crisis, for people who are living full lives and want to live them with more intention, more clarity, and a deeper understanding of who they are. Because a society of people who know themselves is more resilient, more compassionate, and far more capable of genuine change.
What we stand for
Four principles we won't compromise on.
Human-first, always.
Technology is the means. You are the point. Every design decision, every feature, every word in the app is made with one question: does this genuinely serve the person using it?
Your data is sacred.
What you share with Recognify is yours alone. End-to-end encrypted, GDPR compliant, never sold, never shared. You can export or delete everything at any time, no friction, no delay, no questions.
Science, not trends.
Every approach in Recognify is grounded in peer-reviewed research from neuroscience, behavioural science, and positive psychology. We don't follow wellness trends. We follow evidence.
No bias. No discrimination.
Our AI is built to serve every user with equal care. We actively work to identify and remove bias in our models, our content, and our approach, because growth is a universal human experience.
How we build
The best technology.
The best science.
No shortcuts.
Technology
Recognify is built at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and established psychological research. We use state-of-the-art language models to personalise your experience in real time, connecting lessons to your specific situation, generating reflection prompts that match what you've shared, and adapting your growth path as you evolve.
Science
The science comes from active research at Radboud University into how chatbots and digital tools can reliably support psychological outcomes. This is not inspiration content dressed up in clinical language. It is the translation of serious academic work into something anyone can use, and benefit from, today.
Who we are
A team of social scientists building technology that serves people.
The Recognify team brings together expertise in cognitive neuroscience, behavioural science, and AI development, united by the belief that understanding yourself is one of the highest-leverage things a person can do. We are supported by Radboud University's Launch incubator, Health Valley, and Oost NL.
